I'm sort of in the same situation with LJ right now. That and to be honest, the activity was already dwindling very noticably even before I joined Tumblr. I'm just one out of many, many people, but yeah, LJ seems to be slowly dying, or at least the parts of it I was active in once. I miss the old days sometimes.

My friend's page though is updated. I just have a nasty habit of coming back here and read it.

I miss it too before Tumblr latched upon me XD

I don't get Tumblr. I need guidance. @_@

Thankfully I got someone on Facebook who can help me figure the place out.

But until my friends list dies completely I'm not leaving my LJ. I especially love my precious userpics and I really don't wish to see those go away....

Tumblr has a dashboard where you see posts/reblogs from people you follow. Basically, you follow people you share the same interests - and there is a LOT for Legend of Korra and A:TLA on there. I haven't looked around much for anime but there's definitely other fandoms there.

To find people, you need to post with tags.

For instance, I make a post relating to Loki. You use the following tags

Loki, Loki Odinson, Loki Laufeyson, The Avengers, Thor (whichever version).

Unlike LJ, you type the tag and press enter so no need for commas (unless mobile version but it...doesn't work rofl).

You can make chat/conversations

That: Look
like: this automatically

Along with a quote. Post up audio, upload OR embed a video, and, most important of all, photosets. Some people make photoblogs and make graphics (me for instance), And what's great is that Tumblr allows gifs. So basically, it's the "wizard world" xD
