Poem: Pray

Jul 18, 2004 01:11

It is a painful heart
And a cruel world,
The lights are dark,
Without a place to turn,
Who will save me?
In my dying days,
Or will I continue to hurt,
And bleed inside,
The pain is,
So unbearable,
The sights are sore,
And I think of her,
How do I come to terms?
To the hatred brought on by her,
The terms have changed,
And gone around,
The sights are different,
Changed by time,
Does she hurt?
And does think of me?
With her man,
Lying in bed next to him,
A simple message,
From a bird,
Flies so high,
It becomes a blur,
Is this the truth?
She smiled at me,
Or am I living a lie to hard to believe,
She pours her heart once more to me,
Just like it was when we were carefree,
Her touches and smiles,
I honestly do miss,
But is this the same,
I fear it isn’t,
Living a lie,
And looking at her,
She can not be with me,
But she has so many pains,
Troubling her,
It is not my place,
But I will comfort her,
It is funny how life progresses,
She loved me once,
Then hated me,
What is this letter from her?
She remembers me still,
I will only pray for her.
