This city never ceases to fascinate me. Its peculiar quality is at times a source of inspiration and at other times a source of frustration; New York pictures so often cannot be placeless or universal, which are themes that I enjoy exploring. They're just so...New York!
"I love the rain - it washes memories off the sidewalk of life." Woody Allen, Play it again Sam
It's been way too long since i've been back to New York. The grainy b/w lends it that mythical film noir feel. The rain seems to conjure saxophones and the smell of bagel vendors from when I was a kid.

Bagel vendors! Dammmit. Now I'm hungry.
I'm so glad this creates happy associations for you! Thanks for saying so.

Boston only has 2 characteristic buildings: The Prudential and the Hancock.
The Pru should be blasted, it's ugly as hell, but I'd really miss the Hancock if it were taken down.
So by analogy, maybe NYC should do one of each! One WTC Tower and one Freedom Tower (Bleh, I hate the name)!

I wonder if that's even feasible.
I hate the name "Freedom Tower" too. It reminds me of "Freedom Fries."
