Although I like snarking as much as the next snarky person, this was not fun, this slogging through an awful book with awful characters, an awful message, and awful writing. I read a review/commentary on the last book in the series. I am not sure how anyone could pull off the key scene involving birth, death and "resurrection" of a sort and still have it palatable to the target audience.

Looking forward to what the internet will look like when that final movie comes out - it will be the Twipocalypse, for sure.

I've read one, too. cleolinda? I'm amazed that kids my kids' age are allowed to read the book. Carly and Ally are creeped out just by hearing their friends summarize it. I can't imagine they'd enjoy READING such a story. And I can't imagine how they can make that a movie with a rating less than R. Will be interesting to see.

This has made me so happy that my kids have ignored Twilight in favor of the Percy Jackson series. Took them and two of their friends to see Lightning Thief Monday. They loved it, Pierce Brosnan was in it, so mom was happy.

Yes, my kids are loving Percy Jackson. I'm gonna try and read that soon. I, too, enjoyed the movie, but Carly was quite put out by how much it deviated from the book. She's a purist. :)

Younger kid made a similer complaint. She was mad that her favorite scene was not in the movie. (I gather rotten stepdad got what he deserved in the missing scene.)

No! It's there! You have to stay through the first part of the credits, but it's there! Now you're gonna have to take your kids again. :)
