So slim has not sold on ebay. I have offered a second chance to the highest bidder, I really do hope he takes it. Steph and I have decided that we will have a reception no matter what. It may be simple like just cake and drinks. We can not afford the wedding of our "dreams" even if that is what it is. A large part of me thinks that we should just ( Read more... )

Nothing wrong with small receptions steliz_ocayce October 19 2007, 03:29:34 UTC
Ours was lemonade & punch, mixed nuts, dinner mints and cake. Total budget under $100 ($300 to $400 in today's $$). I'd add coffee to what we had (no need for coffee at an outdoor reception in July in Dallas!) and maybe soft drinks. People can toast with punch if needed ( ... )

Game?!?!??! you think this is a game? Ok sorry had to get the sarcasm out. What is this less than 100 thing? Of course I am good for it! We are in this for the long haul and the last thing I could imagine is us going into >>>>debt just for a two hour celebration. I think that we can pull this off for $4-5k which is doable. Now let's all pray that slim is gone tomorrow.
Mwahhh!

Hey,
You 2 need to wake up. Your dream is not how big the wedding is or how pretty it all is. Sure that stuff might help. But you are getting married in the Church. Were it me, I would steal Timmie, run off to some deserted chapel on the coast and get married just the three if you, Perhaps its a little more of a family affair than that, but still the marraige is about you 2 and how much you love each other, not how many people you invite or who feels cheated that you couldn't invite them.

Thats my 2 cents.

BB you are right, our dream never included a lot of the things that were sorta forced onto us. Steph and I have made a decision and we are going to stick it out. On monday all the invitations will be sent and we will have invited everyone that we wanted to and a lot more that we invited to keep family strife to a minimum. Our plans are simple and affordable and more in line with who we are, not what other have told us that others will expect.
