Eeee, this is so great! Apologies for taking a while to read this (I've been behind on all the ficathon stories, and am just now catching up today).

A really nice bit of world-building here, with Elspeth and her father (I was so sad when I thought they would have to part; very pleased that her father accompanied her!), with Ethan and his rift with his brother, with Ethan's occluded background (hardly shocking -- Ethan, with things to hide? NO! *g*).

Much fun. I'd love to read more about this, perhaps with Elspeth and Alastair coming back for a visit, or Giles deciding to extend his holiday to stay a while in Scotland.
