Oops, I never did start watching LDYB2 -- got distracted by Castle then L&O. I'm having a hard time getting started. I haven't watched a BSG episode in about eight months, and it's like I have this mental block against rewatching (even though I hold no bitterness.) So, I need to psych myself up to start watching. Any suggestions?
Oh, wow. I know exactly how you feel. I've participated in some rewatches, but I haven't actually watched the episodes. That mental block is definitely there. (My bitterness is still there, although now there's a lot more apathy.)
For me, it depends on the day. Sometimes I can rewatch and just enjoy the K/L time we had. Other days I don't want to see any bsg b/c of the rage. Right now I'm going through S3 again for a potential project and am stuck half-way through. I've made it through UBEX but I can't keep watching b/c I know Maelstrom is coming. I can deffo identify with the mental block.
Hmm...I can understand the block. I have one about S4 now. I'm not really sure what to suggest. I just pop the ep in 'cause I know I need to be there to help lead the rewatch, and then I do find myself enjoying it again especially when there are others around to snark about it with when need be.
I'm in NC...and b/c I'm a dork, I've started thinking of it as New Cap instead of the Carolinas...anyhow, we're kinda all over. I'm pretty sure Pali and Ray are West Coasters.
Someone made a comment in the rewatch that the Sam/Kara/Lee scene in the bunkroom was back when angst was fun. Why do you reckon that changed? And when?
I fail at checking my icon before posting comments.
But for me, I think it was UB that really stepped over the line. When they were struggling to sort it out, the angst was fun. When Kara ripped Lee's heart out of his chest after using his feelings for her to get close enough, not so much.

(I didn't really find the LDYB bunkroom scene fun though either. It showed Kara being mean rather than just hurtful out of her self-protection instincts. I saw that as OOC for her

It changed for me when they refused to divorce for such contrived reasons. I mean, come on. That was the writers just taking it too far.
