I hear it all the time.

"My girlfriend is jealous. She thinks I have a crush on you."

"I can't wait for you to meet /newgirlfriend/. She's terrified of you."

"Please don't write on my Facebook wall. /Girlfriend/ picks a fight with me every time you do. Just email me."

Without going into a smash the patriarchy rant I'll say this much: false confidence works surprisingly like real confidence when it comes to other people. I have recently, jokingly, said how amazing i am in a few ways and while some are true and some are more things i aspire to be, people have been repeating them.

Your positivity on both yourself and those for whom you care is a noticeable thing. You point out when people do great things, both yourself and others, and thats not something that most do.

But don't take it from me - I'm "terrifying". I guess that's what you get called when you're not pretty enough to be "intimidating".
