I've reached a similar view, but I'm trying not to become cynical. For all the talk about complete honesty and open communication as cornerstones of poly, I've been disappointed and occasionally burned by those who don't practice what they preach. I haven't given up, and some recent events have been more positive.
Don't compromise on the fundamentals; they're very important.
Thank you and I agree. I could write more on it, but I think from my journal you know how I feel :). I should make it to more poly events, the bdsm events seem to be more my thing, even though I have the poly interest. So how have you been? What's new? Since there hasn't been much posting, is it safe to say that your wife is in the clear and doing well, I hope :). Thanks for staying in touch. Hugs to you!
I've been pretty good, actually. Yes, my wife is still in complete remission and life is returning to something akin to normal, though it will never be quite the same as it was. I know I haven't posted much in quite a while -- I'll work on that.
I doubt I'll be attending any poly meetings for a while. I'm rather disappointed in the way some of the regulars tend to gossip and say derogatory things about others behind their backs. So much for the "respectful" part of the PURPOSE acronym. That's part of what I was referring to.
Here's hoping that 2008 continues to improve for both of us! Keep in touch. *Hugs*
