We make this reality too. Don't get me wrong... I empathize. I think most married people do.
HOWEVER, I would NEVER suggest that a ... lacking partner couldn't single-handedly sabotage a relationship. In that situation, the well-meaning intent of one can only carry the ship for so long.
Getting to the True Self has a long and colorful history. What method of achieving that realization do you intend on pursuing?
Yeah, the context of the quote is missing, and so too some of the meaning.
It's not so much that marriage in and of itself is the obstacle, or even the person to whom one is married... The point was more that one does not generally make such huge life decisions unless the overall intent is to better one's position (or perception thereof).
The original intention behind my decision to separate was Getting to the True Self, not so much to get away from my partner, who is awesome, and whom I love dearly.
Unfortunately, I got sidetracked there for a bit, as I have a tendency to do. It's the Crow - hey look! Shiny! - in me. ;-p
I have this theory I had started to build upon in the journey to True Self - I'll write more on that in another post. At this point, I've waylaid myself from that as well, so now, the intent is redirection, and bringing the pendulum closer to Center.
Thanks for your thoughts, Ankh. They are, as always, much appreciated!
Spiraling Into the Center - Flight of the Hawknight_fatherMay 19 2007, 19:16:37 UTC
I thought these Lyrics to be appropriate:
"Spiraling into the Center, the center of a shield Spiraling into the Center, the center of a shield I am the weaver, I am the woven one I am the dreamer, I am the dream I am the weaver, I am the woven one I am the dreamer, I am the dream."
Never forget that wherever you are, you are the Center: Infinity all around you.
The journey to True Self is a journey of remembrance.

I love the lyrics - thank you so much. I think I'm going to print them out and put them up. A place at my desk at work seems appropriate, since that is where I am so prone to lose that Center.
