Decisions, decisions

I have been pretty quiet lately on politics, mostly because I'm confused. On one side, I want to vote democrat just to show how much I hate the Bush administration. But then again, I feel ripped off if I put Obama in office. I mean, if I'm going to have a black man in office, I want the full black attitude with it. Give me Samuel Jackson. "I'm ( Read more... )

I've only read one article so far on the senator from Alaska, but it wasn't exactly glowing. Not that they had much negative to say, there just didn't seem to be much to say at all - except that she calls herself a Hockey Mom. I'm not sure I'd want someone - man or woman - with so little political experience to be running the United States of America, regardless of her views. Does she has the experience to know when tact is required and when to be hard nosed? (etc) I think he picked her solely because she has boobs, and he wanted something to go against the Democratic party having a black man.

And I think that's a shitty reason to pick a running mate.

But that's just me, and I don't get to vote in your election. :)

right, but as far as your argument goes, the same can be said about Obama, the lack of experience and voting only because he is black. At least in this case, shes the VP, not the actual president

I don't like talking politics because of the potential ugliness, but I am outraged by yesterday's news.

I was undecided in this election up until today. Anyone who chooses a running mate that endorses & supports the massacre of 14 adult wolves & their cubs WHILE THEY WERE IN THEIR DEN, as well as supports & encourages aerial hunting of wolves, believes that global warming does NOT exist & that polar bears are NOT in danger, and supports off-shore drilling WILL NOT be getting my vote for the next president of the United States. Palin is also trying to get an Alaskan state trooper fired simply because he's going through a messy divorce with her sister.

actually the state trooper thing was proven otherwise, don't trust wikipedia, anyone can edit that.

As for wolf hunting, I guess it depends on the situation, which we might not have all the details about. For example, what if the wolves were entering the village and attacking people, and they finally tracked the wolves down?

Just throwing some thoughts out there, playing devil's advocate. After all, questions about Obama's ties to Farrakan have to be questioned as well.

Didn't get it from Wiki (don't use Wiki), got it from the national news and several other sources.

The situation is that she's caving to ranchers who are insisting that the wolves are a threat to their livestock. When in reality there has only been one wolf attack for every 718,000 head of cattle in the last 10-15 years (stats taken directly from the Alaskan Fish & Wildlife site). There are more fatalities from people hitting deer & moose, than there are livestock fatalities from wolves. The wolves haven't done anything ... it's slaughter of innocent animals pure & simple. There are several animals rights/protection groups after her ass, one being The Defenders of Wildlife. I'm a member ... I'll send you a letter I got from them recently regarding the situation.

cool deal.

TBH, I'm hoping for a 3rd party independent to announce that they are running. I hate both parties running, both of them will fuck up everything for the middle class, as per usual. If it weren't for my family living here, I'd have left the country by now.
