A brief rant.

I hate fruit in this country. Why can you never find anything that is locally grown and has flavor? I guess it will soon be blueberry season, so we'll have a few weeks of those - and then apples... But, still. It has probably been years since I have had a peach, nectarine, or plum with any real flavor. (Not to mention mangoes, papaya, and other ( Read more... )

Geez, we've got 'em down here... the farm across the street has yummy blueberries and peaches. Not to mention the corn and the tomatoes and the zucchini and and and...

You have *sniff* peaches? Maybe there is hope. Our local farmers' market is really more of a plant market with the occasional boom of zucchini and cucumbers, but maybe there is some orchard out there with things other than apples...

I hear you!
Even when we buy from the farm stand up the street, whatever we get is fuzzy in a day or two. Just awful.

Did get some good Blueberries the other day, but you are right about peaches and plums...very watery bland. :*
