This weekend in New York, I walked 39.9 miles with more than 2,500 other women and men, raising more than $7.2 million dollars to fund early detection, counseling, treatment, and research for breast cancer. In two days, I head to NYC for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer! My team and I will arrive in the City Friday afternoon and check in for the Walk. Saturday morning we start bright and early, hitting the road with a 26.2 mile goal. What an exciting week it has been! The short version is that the pack and move was uneventful. We decamped to my aunt and uncle's house before the packers came to minimize kitty trauma. Well, we're on our way out - almost. One thing that always strikes me when in the final phases of moving prep is that it always seems to take a big life change - such as moving a couple thousand miles away - to spur us on to see folks and do things that we have been promising ourselves that we would do for months.
