My best of 2010

It occurred to me while in the shower this morning afternoon that I hadn't blogged in awhile. Pondering on a subject to talk about I decided it might be fun to do a round up of my favourite things from this year. So here they are!

Great to see you blogging, and all - you don't do that enough, but:

Seriously? "Scott Pilgrim vs the World" was also awesome but in a very different way, I loved the graphic novels and the movie really does it justice.

The film was okay - not bad, but not great either - and didn't come close to doing justice to the (fantastic) graphic novels! You're the first person I've spoken to about it, now, who had both (a) previously read and enjoyed the books and (b) subsequently watched the film and felt it did them justice. Curious.

Other than that, an agreeable round-up to the year, only a little over a month premature.

I suppose with any film, especially those based on books or graphic novels, you have to set your expectations before you go in. If you expect a scene for scene recreation you're always going to be disappointed, overall I thought the movie was well cast and did a good job of bringing life to the characters. The visual style and music were pretty awesome too. The song they used for Clash at Demonhead (Metric's "Black Sheep") was my fave; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGB4VDQI6XM
