How to spend a thrifty day in Tokyo

With the yen being so damn strong at the moment I'm needing to be fairly constrained with my spending to keep the cost of this holiday from spiralling out of control. Thankfully it's actually quite easy to have a cheap day out in Tokyo, here's my general strategy
