Complexities of riding the bus in Japan

Busses in Japan are surprisingly complicated and it's taken me a little while to get used to all the various methods of buying tickets/paying for rides/working out when its my stop. But I think I finally have it down:

There are some places you really need to use the bus to visit, a lot of Kyoto's attractions are too far out for walking or don't have nearby train stations. If you head to smaller towns it usually the only option too. The trains are amazingly simple to use though. I love Japanese trains ^_^
