We saw Up today. I honestly had no idea what the story was about, or what we were in for, save for the fact that I heard it was the first animated feature to ever open the Cannes Film Festival

Good god, woman. I totally get this. Fucking Kung Fu Panda broke my heart last year because it parts of it are so pretty and the characters are kind. I know I'm doomed with Up; the animators obviously love Spencer Tracey. Thanks for the warning.

i wept within the first ten minutes! nolan, mark and i got free tickets to see it four weeks ago as test audience and LOVED it. i'd see it again just to catch all the subtle comedic nuances i might'nt have caught when i first saw it. :)

I was amazed that they could set up the first ten minutes so that you had an emotional attachment to a character who you saw for all of 10 minutes...and only had about 2 minutes of dialogue at that!!!
