Jonathan came over right after Chris' performance and I was like, "Okay, you've got to watch this." I rewound it (I love DVR) and his jaw just about dropped to the ground. Chris was fan-tastic last night. After his performance and while he was being critiqued by the judges, Jonathan was like, "I don't think there's ever been such a clear-cut winner ever for this show."

Katherine was also amazing, though.

My bottom three were probably Lisa, Bucky and Kevin. The thing with Kevin is that he has a great voice, but his image is just...it's very hard to take someone who looks like Chicken Little seriously, y'know. He might end up being kinda cute once he hits about 25/26, though, I think. :-)

I couldn't agree with you more about Kevin.

Can you believe that some people where ripping Chris' performance this morning saying he butchered a Johnny Cash classic???? I was really upset with the local radio morning talk show. I thought Chris was by far the winner last night and if he doesn't win the show this year I will be shocked.

I figured some people would hate his version, but those are the people who most likely like covers that are straight covers. Myself, I love it when an artist can take something like that and make it uniquely their own, and I thought Chris did an amazing job with it. For me, the song almost sounded darker in a way, if that makes any sense, and almost took on a whole new meaning with the way he did it. That to me is what makes a great artist. And yes, if Chris doesn't win I will be completely shocked.

We are on the same page still. I don't want a karoke performance. I want to see the artist's personality and orginal touch to the songs they sing on the show. I only saw this 100% with Chris. The other 5 in my top 6 tried but did not accomplish what Chris did last night.

I can see what you mean by the song seemed darker the way he did it. I loved it.

I don't agree with you about Katherine and Elliot...I think they are definitely missing "it".
My prediction for bottom 3 tonight: Bucky, Lisa, and Elliott (it seems like there's one person every week who shouldn't be in bottom 3, and I think it will be him this week). I think Bucky will go home.

As for Chris? You know what's funny about that song? The band Live does a remake of "Walk The Line" also on their greatest hits album from last year..I never knew it was a remake until I saw Chris doing it. His version was very similar to theirs. I love it!

Taylor was just horrible last night..It sounded like he wasn't even singing.
Here are my rankings
1. Chris
2. Mandisa
3. Ace
4. Paris
5. Kellie (I still hate her, but she was good)
6. Kevin (the best he ever has been..Charles even liked him)
7. Elliott
8. Katharine
9. Taylor
10. Lisa
11. Bucky

Live does a cover of "Walk the Line?" Now that's interesting, especially considering Chris has said that Live is his favorite band (I can so see him performing "I Alone" and completely bringing the house down).

Did you get the song I sent you.

Yup. I just downloaded it.

And yes, Marty did an awesome job with "I Alone." Oddly enough, I was telling Jonathan the other night about Marty's rendition of "Baby One More Time" and how it had made me see that song in a whole other light.
