As I've said before, I will support you 100% either decision you make. You are one of my favorite people in the whole world, and whatever decision you make should be a decision based on what YOU want. All other people, places or things should NOT be a factor. I know that it's much easier said than done. And this decision is a tough one, but this ultimately is your decision. You have to decide what is best for you. Things change in a split second. Someone moving a nanosecond slower; someone not thinking before they speak; anything can change in a matter of minutes. You must decide what's best for you. You have to believe in what you decide. And remember neither one is the be all end all of the situation. You can still do both with either one you choose. Do what you want and the rest will follow!
This is nice but not exactly what I was wanting sweeite. What would you do if you were in my same position? It will not affect my decision in the long run b/c I am the only person that can make the decision. Thanks.
Gee Thanks...I'm a little biased, and I can't possibly forget about that aspect. My answer that you weren't exactly looking for is me trying to take the bias out of it. Job security is something I couldn't possibly turn down at the moment, and the financial security that you will receive from this position will be very beneficial whether you are in the position for a year or ten years. If it was a company that I loved working for and knew that I would be secure there, I'd definitely go for the job.
I understand and I didn't mean to offend. I am just really struggling with this decision. So many factors to consider and it;s one of the hardest decisions I have had to make in a long time. Hope I didn't upset you.
Well I would probably take the job over the degree for now... given your current situation... but if a phd is what you want, I would not wait for too long to start a program. It gets very challenging as you get older.
LOL Thanks for the advice. I am SO confused. Really tough decision. Neither option is 100% and I hate it when things are left up in the air! :) I am meeting with my boss today to discuss options with him and get some input! Thanks again for your 2 cents. :)
You're welcome. :-) I know what it's like to have a big decision like that in front of you (I've had a few of them this year, and they just keep on coming), and honest opinions are always the best. They may not be what you want to hear, but we ask for people's perspectives for a reason, y'know.

I thank you for your honesty. You and Mr. B must be thinking on the same page! LOL He told me he thinks I will be great in this position and he wants me to apply for it. I will not know until after the interviews if I get the job but he said that I have the inside edge but we will all keep our minds open and see what happens after the application close. This will not be as quick of a move as I first had thought. It will be July, August, or maybe even September before all this will go into effect. So my plan for now is to see what happens with the job and then if I get it worry about it then and if I don't get it then I still can apply for PhD school or continue in my position I am currently in. :) Thanks again and I knew I could count on you to give me a honest opinion! TTYL
I appreciate your input and I will email you a more detailed response. Thanks for the phone number. I was shocked when I looked in my phone and realized I don't have your number until today! I guess since I had Charlie's I never even though about it. :)
