no latex (funny), at the top it will be a low E insulated glazing (i figure facing due south, and it being in new orleans, any amount of exposure will be too much exposure) in a steel tube framing. the function is not only to act as a convection ventilation system but as an interior light well to provide constant daylighting in the corridor areas that surround it. there is way way more to this project, this is just the first thing i got done putting the finishing touches on.
