Jamie had "professional" drain doctor people come and fix it yesterday, and this was our test to see if it was really fixed. [that's why I never came back last night]. While it's not leaking water anymore, water is still seeping into my ceiling. I should probably get renter's insurance soon so that I can replace my stuff if indeed this thing eventually floods my apartment. And can you believe that Michael said that I was overreacting to this.
you might try pointing out to this guy that if this goes until there's a major flood then it's going to cost a lot more to fix, and you'll probably have to find another place to live, which will make you even more livid... (personal experience with this exact same situation: start looking for another place to live now)
I LOATHE moving. Plus, cost of living in Denver has SKYROCKETED to the point that I won't be able to find anything else this big [and I'm not saying that my place is huge] for the same amount of money. And I can't afford more than what I'm paying. I just took a paycut with this new job. Also, where am I gonna get the money for a deposit on a new place, movers, etc? I have NO savings. I lost that after my accident.
*sigh* I have faith in God, and he will take me where he needs me to be.
that's why, in an ideal world, he will see it your way and actually pay to fix it... but don't hold your breath. i don't know about denver, but seattle landlords usually don't do anything about it until there's a health code violation and they have to do something about it...
which is why, in spite of the fact that it's small enough that i don't have room to set up my workshop, i still like the place i'm in a lot better than anywhere else, 'cause it's mine... ;)
me too. this gives me a new project though - design a flyer with all these pictures, bring that to the management company and SHOW them what I have been dealing with for the last year. should I?
nope! no over-reaction there, that is serious damage!
if the problem is fixed and not leaking, but you are still getting water, that could spell trouble!!
you should be able to tack on renters insurance to your auto policy pretty inexpensively; make sure it covers flood/fire/theft. some policies don't cover flood. DO IT, better safe than sorry!!!
