Somehow, it seems easy for many to turn their backs on food and environmental issues as "not their problem" or "not that big a deal." "Food, Inc." talks about those issues, but it also has a lot to reveal about how the food industry treats people, and if anything, that deserves attention. This has been playing at our theatres for weeks now - I didn't realize it was just being released in the states. I haven't seen it yet.

:) Right.
I'm reading a book right now called "Food: The History of Taste" by, a whole bunch of people really, but edited by Paul Freedman. It's strange to think of how recent a phenomenon it is that we even have the luxury to care about the taste of our food at all, then to change our relationship with food so drastically within several generations afterward.
