Brace yourself for a ranting, whiney entry which is something overly abundant here on livejournal, which from here on out, I refuse to refer to in speech or type as "lj".
So the first letters from CVU came today. Included was the schedule, which I don't have any real problems with and will get to more later. But seeing my open R1 block first semester sparked the thought of how I don't have a parking permit and won't be able to go in later, which was something I was really looking forward to. Granted, I can park at the rocks when they are opened, but I doubt I could go in later after first block and find a place to park. And it's like, what if I drive all the way there to find the rocks are full? What the hell am I supposed to do then when you get in trouble for parking in any of the lots without a permit? *sigh* Oh how I hate some things about CVU so much.
And a quote from the main letter, with my italicizing the parts which irk me. "The school has continued to undergo significant changes over the summer. We have many new spaces such as playing fields, an all-weather running track, Learning Center, Direction/Guidance office, gymnasium and renovated classrooms." Oh yeah? Well what about parking?! After all the shit the administration has endured over students wanting parking permits and basically rioting over them, and parking without permits, you'd think this would be something they would try to adress with all this renovation. It bothers me to no end how they put in all these new fields and spend so much money on athletics and seem to ignore the issue of students getting to school and having a place to park! Shouldn't my ability to travel to school so I can actually attend my classes have priority of newer and nicer soccer fields? If they do all this rennovation and fail to add any parking, after what was called and "epidemic" and "fiasco" last year I will be so extremely disheartened it will be beyond the description of words. I can only hope that this letter simply failed to mention that they are doing something to improve the parking situation.
One of the major reasons I spent hundreds of dollars to take Driver's Ed over the summer was so I could drive myself to school, and it seems for much of the school year I won't even be able to do that. If it transpires that there are people who have parking permits and aren't using them, or won't have their licenses until second semester, I will not stay quiet on the issue. I won't even if that isn't the case. I'll complain to my advisors every day if that's what it takes to get something done about it.
The building may be improved, but I can see CVU really going down the drain. The whole scheduling thing last year as well as the parking problems they had (and if they aren't doing anything to add more parking), and with Sean taking over (I really don't like him) I just don't know where things are headed. I was starting to change my mind about trying to graduate early, but now I'm thinking if I can add in classes, especially English, to the schedule I have now and it will help me get out sooner, I definately will.
And as for my schedule, I know I put it up at the end of last year, but I will do so again, with comments on it.
Semester 1
R1-Nothing, though since it doesn't look like I will be able to come in late and stay home during this block, I think I will try to add in an English class if that's possible, so I will have only 1/2 English credit to obtain senior year.
R2-Trig/Pre-Calc with Allanson. A new teacher, whose first name is Tomi. A unisex name, so I still don't know if it's a man or a woman, but it seems more like a way a woman would spell it.
R3-Major American Lit with Moore. This must be JoAnn Moore, who I don't know anything about, except in the yearbook she was the "Most likely to be a rock star" teacher. I don't know what that says...
R4-Photography with Tim Duvernoy. The one thing that I was lucky to get as a junior. Lovey will be jealous. We'd better still have the camera Kali used when she took this class...
W1-BGH with Imes. Oh what fun. Another class with Imes. *cough* Because a semester with him every day last year wasn't enough... But yeah, he's really boring, but at least he liked me, and I do respect him as a person.
W2-Latin II with Kristin Leblanc. Another new teacher, so I have no idea what they are like. I hope Kyle, Jared and Josh are all still in this class and don't change. Especially Jared, because he was my Latin rock last year.
W3-Nothing. I think I intend to keep this as nothing. Unless I can add an English class to my schedule, and this block has one that is a lot better than R1.
W4-Honors US History with Amy Wardwell. Don't know anything about what she's like. But yeah, I still need to do the assignment for this class............
Semester 2
R1-Acting with Robin Fawcett. One class I'm confident will be awesome. Hannah and Jared are in it (and better stay there) and Robin is cool and crazy and knows my aunt.
R2-Trig/Pre-Calc with Allanson. Same as 1st.
R3-Writing Prose with Sue Frederick. Don't know anything about this teacher, either, I don't think. I've heard a lot of people complain about this class, but hopefully it's not that bad, since I do like writing.
R4-Nothing. Hopefully I will be able to leave during this block when the rocks are open. I will probably keep this empty unless, like with the other free blocks, there's a good oppurtunity.
W1-Inorganic Chem with Michelle Pinaud. Jared took the class and said it was hard at first, but I took Intro to Phys/Chem and got an A, so that should make it better for me. He and Lovey had her as a teacher and I think they liked her alright.
W2-Latin II with Leblanc. Same as 1st.
W3-Nothing. Same as all the other free blocks.
W4-Honors US History with Wardwell. Same same same.
Despite all of my annoyance, I am curious to see how the building looks now, and where my advisory will be. Anything will be better than the spaces we've had. We've had all the shittiest ones. Worst of all being the "fitness center". I preferred the tiny, cramped office of freshman year (and early sophomore year as well).
I finished Driver's Ed today. I'm glad it's over, and am excited I can get my license in 10 days, even if the school parking is sucky. At least outside school I will be able to get out of the house more easily, and away from my family and parents (who are bickering and fighting more and more, really because of all the snide, mean things my mom says). I do have somewhat of a rant about graduated license, but will save it for later.
I am hanging out with Jared tomorrow, assuming nothing comes up, which I will be very upset if it does, considering the luck we've had with such. And I will probably be hanging out with Morgan on Wednesday. Nothing else at the moment, really.
