Ok so I guess I left off on the Sunday the 12th....we went out at 4AM-6AM. It was cold and windy so the waves were choppy once again. Found 11 total on both Sandy Point and Morris Cove. Very disappointing. But at least we saved a bunch that were stuck on their backs from the waves. Well I was supposed to go out on the boat at noon but I didn't go ( Read more... )

Oh boy oh boy. Sat night was a full moon so me and Gabe went out on duty at 1AM-4AM. Thank you to the insanely cold June weather and nice gusty winds we found a total of 11 crabs at 2 different beaches. Today wasn't too long of a day. Was a 9:30-2 day. Back at PSEG and tagged 215 -220 crabs. Put out 6 sonars. It didn't rain on us so that was a plus. Full moon this weekend so we have to go out at night. Mattei might come with us but of course it's Friday and we still don't know. *sigh* I don't know I'm just not feeling happy. Rain has been making my job not so fun. Had the worst day of crabbing on Wednesday. I was supposed to pick up Mark by 8:00 AM. Yesterday we went to the intake at PSEG. Holy crab. We were there from 11-3 and tagged 244 crabs!! And only about 6 or 7 were recaptures and we got one of the sonars. Not too sure how good that's looking for the company- the estimate of 2000 crabs is seeming more realistic and the ones we tagged there previously tended to stay there so far. Despite it being another 9-5 day- today was great. The weather was overcast and windy this morning which made it not so fun early on but then the coulds broke and the sun came through and it was awesome! No Gabie today- just me, Guy, and Mark.
