Drive by Bumbershooting

If I can play pool at work, surely I can update lj at work.
Bumbershoot was ridiculously awesome. After learning from last year's line-waiting travesty, I saw all the bands I wanted to see (except Devo, who cancelled a month ago), as well as a couple extra comedy shows. See, you're learning. Pretty soon you'll be playing video games at work. Then you'll quit to play poker full time. Then you'll find a girl. Then you'll have interviews with Google, Amazon, and Adobe. Then you'll realize that you're me and I will have swallowed your soul.

That's not a euphemism.

I was wonderfully rude to her

Bastard.

The whole day, I was thinking that I was going to run into someone from elementary school or something, so it took me a minute to figure it out when I saw you. Brownie? In Seattle? What? Does not compute.

We chatted through Dashboard. Listened to the Decemberists, they were awesome.

I was just glad you weren't some Microsoftie in disguise. Those weirdos are everywhere.

Yeah, big fan of the Decemberists. I've never seen a band spontaneously sing Happy Birthday in front of that huge a crowd.

Do you remember what was on the setlist?

I'm going to go see them in a week or so...

It was mostly from Picaresque... The Sporting Life, Lost at Sea, 16 Military Wives, Engine Driver, Mariner's Revenge Song were most memorable (in that I remembered them). Also a couple from each of the old albums, but none of my favorites, so I don't know the names off hand. They're all sea shanties anyways. I thought I was a pirate until sundown.
