What do you do with a persimmon? And what does it taste like?

we cook with them.they only grow in about 5 or 6 states.it is a wild friut.
we bake a puddings,cakes.ice cream,cookies.
if they are good and ready to eat ,,,they are real sweet.
They have a persimmon festival yearly and it is going on right now.and tons of things are sold at the festival made with persimmons and they have a persimmon contest ..kinda like a bake out thing.it is a big deal here.

I remember years ago when I first started talking about persimmons.you were the frist to ask me what they were.and cuzz me to look them up on the net.and that is how I knew they only grow in about 5 or 6 states.
The persimmons festival is going on right now.it is a big deal around here!
