Favorite Series

My all-time favorite series is "The Chronicles of Amber" by Roger Zelzany. This was the first fantasy series that I remember reading - even before Tolkien. I found it in my high school library when I was wandering the stacks before school. I loved the characters, the abilities of the princes, the worlds ... hence my running of the GURPS World-Walkers' campaign

I liked his darkness series...can't remember the actual name of the series, but all the titles had darkness in them somewhere. It paralleled WWII history but with Dragons and Magic, replete with cultures reminiscent of mid 20th Century US-USSR-UK-Germany-Japan-etc.

My favorite stand-alone book of late was God's Debris, by the guy who draws Dilbert, but I think he recently sequeled that, but since I have not read the sequel it is not a stand alone book.
