After a couple of days, Ray noticed the little present sitting next to Terence's tank. He wasn't so sure about it. Turnbull was the best thing, sexually, to happen to him in years, but a present for his turtle? Kind of weird.
He picked up the package and carried it over to the couch, tearing through the perfect wrapping job. Under the wrapping paper was a box, taped shut. Ray used his teeth to break the tape, then lifted the lid. And stared.
Holy shit. Ray lifted the matchbox car delicately. It was perfect. A '67 GTO, black paint. Not in very good condition, had obviously been banged around a bit. But it was beautiful.
It wasn't a good present for a turtle. Too small, impossible to keep clean. What did Terence know about cars, anyway?
Ray kept it on the coffee table, where at least he could enjoy it.
