chase, do not apologize for a long post!!!! haha, finally, more than monosyllables! :D
i wish you luck in the whole major switching thing...i kind of understand in terms of my bio fiasco. i love bio, but i absolutely hated all the chemistry and physics i'd have to take in order to earn the major. well, that, and the dean laughed at my attempt to combine it w/ english. but i hope that ultimately you'll end up doing what you really enjoy, which could end up being engineering. maybe the physics classes get more interesting in upper levels? i don't know, but good luck! whatever you do, i'm sure you'll end up successful.
and chase, you'd be proud to know that even at gtown i haven't found anyone capable of rivaling your yuppiness. you're one of a kind! ;) hehe
I think that picking a major that YOU want is the most important thing right now. Your father will be proud of you if you chose a career path that makes you happy. He will be proud of you no matter what. Plus, if you poli-sci we can have scintillating discussions!
First of all, only the GIRLS want to hear about a girl?? Best of luck with that Chase!
Second of all, you should make your college experience about doing what you enjoy the most. I wouldn't say switching that quickly out of engineering is the best idea, seeing as its kind of difficult to switch back in, but that option shouldn't be kicked off the table. You need to make sure that you're enjoying your time at Penn State, not cursing away your college years.
Third of all, its shocking how politically apathetic Northwestern is. I'm very much interested in and constantly read the paper about the upcoming presidential election, and it seems as if I'm one of the only ones. It's astounding how little people care here about politics.
Glad to hear an update about your life. Maybe I'll start posting on LJ once again as well. Best of luck with this new lady friend!
Chase, don't worry about your jobs after college ... or whether your potential major is 'lucrative' enough or will earn you enough money. thats silly to think about now. You can be super successful in ANY field. Do what you ENJOY doing and the success will follow.
