What is a hamster?

A small furry creature with no tail and a penchant for stuffing food into its cheeks. Kids keep em as pets a lot. It's the step between goldfish and puppy, I think.

They're named for their color. Some of them really do look like they're made of gold, they're all sparkly like. People keep them in bowls as pets. I had one when I was a kid.
