eloquent as always.
i remember reading that he always hated the way he looked and i found that very sad. it's hard to believe that he didn't like people since there are so many accounts of him regaling people with wonderful stories, literally for hours. fiona shaw said they had to hold the shoot on harry potter because he wouldn't finish up some outrageous anecdote which doesn't sound like something a misanthrope would do. perhaps he was just shy and his insecurity made him seem uncomfortable at times. it really is a shame that he didn't realize how much he meant to people. he will definitely be missed.

But I think he didn't put other actors into the "people" category. You know? Notice all those stories are from people he worked with. But I think if I, as a fan, walked up to him on the street and said, "I'm such a big fan," he would have been like... GO AWAY.

I felt very sad when I heard the news on NPR.
