I'm pretty sure it's weird that I've now read (and loved) two of your fics and I'm not even in the fandom. I only know who Mercedes is from the one episode of Glee I've seen. But I love the way you take it beyond the fandom and into real life issues like weight and sexuality and depression. But idk how much of that is part of the show in the first place: I guess it's easier to do that with Glee than other fandoms :P

And I'm also not happy with Supernatural fandom atm. :( Glee femslash and actual food for thought, and good writing, is a nice change from being bombarded by crappy Wincest and Destiel fics that ought to be salted and burned.
And before you ask, yes, that does say Wincest. Yeah, this fandom isn't exactly... clean. :P

Glee fandom, or at least the part of it I am in is good at picking apart issues - a lot of the fic I read has real-world implications and I love it.

You nail Quinn so completely as a girl who's being pulled apart at the seams by basically every issue a girl her age can have, and then - then one of the things pulling her apart is one of the things holding her together, too, because all of this confusion re: sexuality and beauty and weight, but she has Mercedes specifically as part of those issues and Mercedes really, truly is a warm, loving, giving person, who has enough like. Enough strength to help, to reach out to someone. And it's like - as much as this isn't a romance, there's still this utter relief at someone being so good and kind, and you just kind of open out into it.
