I just had a call on the home phone which I assume was a phishing scam. The person calling had a heavy foreign accent and mispronounced my surname even worse than usual. They claimed to be calling from a reclaiming company although it took me three goes to understand them well enough to get that bit.
They said they were calling to offer to help me

Of course, the really dodgy thing is that the trial court case is *still* in second appeal, so even if they were wildly efficient, there's nothing to be claimed yet.
Also, if someone did want to do it, it isn't exactly a difficult process to do personally. Having been the victim of some sharp practises in the late 90's, this is something I have kept an eye on, and really, it is just a matter of a few form letters and a bit of chutzpah. But only WHEN the precedent has been set, which it hasn't yet (to the best of my knowledge - I'm happy to be disproved!).
And on a different note, I have enough problems coping with a scottish accent on a phone, some of the outsourced call centre staff seem almost incomprehensible to me!
