I know I've asked around about this before... but where did the jewel come from in the first place? Is it from this world? Or another?

It's a really good question. I don't think anyone knows, exactly. It's strange, though -- this world doesn't have any magic in it at all.

Whatever it is, the Nisei is really old. There's old legends to it and everything. And we've got information about what it's supposed to look like, but . . . not ever where it started.

It's a good question. Maybe it did come from another place, like you said . . . Maybe that's why it brings all of us from other places, because it remembered.

Though . . . Felix-san said that Anna-san brought us, so I'm not sure I understand.
