Characters: memoryreprieved & YOU~
Setting: The arcade (outside of it) ; The park
Time: Late Afternoon; Night
Summary: It was one thing to accept things as they were. But another to move forward knowing that everything from then on might amount to something inevitably fatal to her host. Appalled by this thought, Xion, well. Angsts for the greater good? And gets a lot of backlash. Ah-haha-- I'm terrible. 8D
Warnings: Days spoilers most likely between Roxas and her. Otherwise, Xion being a master of dodging talking about herself? Ah-haha~ As always.

One Afternoon...

'No, no! This is the place!'

'Huh?'

'It definitely is! Come on, Anne!'

Xion had only stared as she was dragged along by Anne's two best friends. Yesterday, she couldn't have fathomed why they were making such a big deal out of today. She probably would have summed it up to being the weekend had they not made their objective known to her. That day was her birthday, they had both exclaimed at the time, and they were going to drag her to the new arcade to celebrate. Least to say, well. Xion had spent that evening figuring out... well. Just what exactly was a birthday. Which was probably a very good thing. 'Have you forgotten that, too, space cadet?' she had remembered Zack teasing her that morning when she had sat for a more glamorous breakfast than usual. By that, Zack had been extra careful not to burn the toast for once. But considering Xion's personal history, even the smallest of things to her were endearing... although it didn't help her guilt.

But then there she was, walking through the sliding doors into the noisy atmosphere filled with chatter, laughter, flashing lights, and the sounds of explosions and effects of the more silly variety. They had dragged her along to the token machine first, stuffing a few bills in each. Xion had been more than happy to watch and mimic accordingly before they moved on into the actual games themselves. At first, Xion had been a little more than worried about how she would perform. It seemed like something that was a regular occurrence between Anne's friends, after all. But. Surprise, surprise. Next thing she knew, she was K'Oing Robin's fighter before she even realized what was going on, wiping out some fairly retro zombies, and piloting a fighter plane like it was second nature. It all honestly made for a great distraction... but at the same time, she couldn't help the backlash of feelings ebbing at her as time went on. Eventually, she dismissed herself to hit up the restroom. But rather than go there, she stepped outside and took in a huge breath of city air, just trying to ease herself.

That Night...

Despite trying to keep herself as well distracted as possible that afternoon, Xion couldn't shake her conversation with Amelia. It had hit home a little too hard. She kept rerunning it in her head over and over again. If she didn't do anything, Anne would never have her life returned to her. But if she did something, Anne could be destroyed. That wasn't exactly a simple matter. It didn't help either the mess she had landed herself in some days before with Roxas. She honestly hadn't spoken with him since then. Any texts he sent went unanswered, she dodged him in the hallways of the school, and she had went as far out of her way as to keep all her necessary belongings in her backpack, halving her locker visits. By the time she had arrived home, her enthusiasm for that day had been more or less snuffed out. This was Anne's day. Not hers. Still, she tried to put on a show. But Zack, no matter how oblivious he seemed from first glance, had more intuition than she had ever given him credit for up until then.

This had ended up leading to an argument where he had asked her what was wrong. And as most would put, like a typical teenager, Xion had dismissed it as nothing. The fight hadn't lasted very long but it had really made things awkward between the two of them, even when Zack admitted defeat to Xion's poor excuse that she just wasn't feeling well. She could tell he was still worried... but there was really nothing she could think of to say to make things right... and that then. Well. Had further crushed her mood.

Which might have explained her whim decision to go out that night shortly after Zack had gone to sleep. It wasn't to shard hunt as it had been the last two nights though. But rather to sort out her thoughts as she wandered the city. Before she had known it though, she found she had followed her feet back to the park. She vaguely debated on if it was a bad idea to stay there after her previous encounter with Fuu, but her thoughts were pretty clouded as they were and it didn't take her long to just decide to have a seat on the bench and let herself drift back to them.
