Suppose I was prone to some specific vice. Suppose I was given to consuming large quantities of alcohol, for example. Would my friends love me just the same, or is their love completely conditional on how closely I fit their image of who I should be? In other words, would they still love me if they found out that I wasn't perfect? Or would they ( Read more... )

I guess it depends on who you think your friends are. True friends would absolutely support, nuture, and restore you. Friends are here to encourage one another, not bring eachother down. If you had a vice, and I believed it was becomeing an issue, I would for sure discuss it with you before I could even create a conclusion of my own. I wouldnt gossip about it, I would ultimately support you in whatever decisions you make in life..because you are a mature, Godly man that is capable of seeing right from wrong, and deciphering God's will for your life. So please care, because I do, and I'm sure others do too...

i dont even think you can get a straight answer to that. because ive experienced both in this rather large group of mutual aquaintances, or friends...whatever you wish to call it. i guess just find out who you truly trust not only to be a supporting fellow christian...but a true friend as well.
