Sometimes the struggle for life (from the owner, for their pet) and (the animals) acceptance of death are too much. I hope I never become an owner that cannot let go when it's time.

Today is heartbreaking.

It is so sad when people hold on to failing animals for their own comfort. It is selfish, but emotion clouds that judgement. They are blinded by love.

Tyler had to insist that the family dog be put down - and thankfully, his folks abided his request.

I only wish humans were allowed such dignity. Having watched cancer steal away pieces of a loved one minute by minute over a series of months, I can only know that there is a better exit than being forced to hold on to the end.
