the idea of christmas in camp is honestly kind of miserable if he stops and thinks about it! full stop. he wants to go home and see his family. I mean, he wants to go home and see his family all the time, but christmas is different and lonely and awful and makes him extra homesick. last year actually wasn't bad because there was an initial disconnect -- he'd left in April, and hadn't been gone eight months real time. it didn't feel like missing the actual holidays with everyone back home, especially since he'd... just seen them? but now he hasn't seen them for an entire year, and he still doesn't know when he's going to be back, and that sucks and it's sad.
I mean, NOT EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE, he has great friends here and I'm sure he will still be out spending it with people and not holed up as a sad sack of emotions. he will probably even have fun! but it's not the same and it won't be the same.
In a way, camp is worse than at home. In the 616verse, Julian's belief that he's going to get attacked is pretty justified! The last time he was out in public without identifying himself as a X-Man, he got drugged and then infected with a deadly virus. He's been horribly injured more times than he cares to count! People genuinely want him dead just for being a mutant! So in that sense, his hyper-aroused state makes sense ...well, to him anyway. He wants to be left alone because dealing with people in that state is hard and they just remind him of what's been done to him. So he withdraws in Legacy and is kind of a loner in X-23 as well.
In camp, he can't do that! He can't withdraw from people. He can't just hide in his room because he doesn't have one. He's in this constant state of anxious hyperarousal and it doesn't stop. It's exhausting and draining and he constantly is thinking about how he's going to be attacked next .... but he doesn't get the time to relax

three is too much thinking and Ted is already in camp anyway, so I'm just going to go with one: himself, before the valentine's dance. just the idea that he could do something differently to change everything that happened.
Jaime finds Kurt really easy to get along with! he has a feeling their interests are nowhere near the same ballpark (except for... possibly... Bravo... shows...), but he's easy to joke with and he doesn't take himself so seriously that he'll get hurt or offended if Jaime pokes fun. and even though he probably wouldn't say so outright, it's... honestly kind of nice to know someone else here misses their family that much. Jaime's family is super important to him, he's gets desperately homesick, and he tries not to talk about it a lot because he knows situations vary wildly and it feels like a perfect recipe for an awkward conversation. it actually means a lot that Kurt would invite him to Christmas dinner, ha ha ha. he is kind of touched?! he would feel awkward... admitting it... but. yes.
Anya is fun! while there is something about dressing up and throwing yourself off rooftops just because you can that Jaime genuinely does not get despite having at least one teammate who does this (hi Tim), he can still respect it. while thinking she's a little crazy. in a... not bad way. she's easy to joke with and fun to tease and kind of cute. there is the part where he is thoroughly weirded out by how she described her old powers, but he is not planning to talk about that ever (because wow, how weird would that conversation be? very weird.) so it is more a layer of awkward and confused background noise right now, I guess.

She thinks the coincidences are super weird and she is so looking forward to that conversation. He seems like a fun guy to tease so she will continue to mess around with him. And continually hope for, you know, messing around.
whatever I'm sorry it's less crazy by default when you have superpowered armor and laser guns and a healing factor and can also fly. this is not irony. these are facts.
EMA IS BOTH KIND OF WEIRD AND KIND OF COOL FOR A COP. he can't decide. DEFINITELY STRANGE. but he would take working with her over... a lot of options. so bonus points? it would be the most hideous crossover team-up ever.
