I know people who aren't used to using HTML are having this problem. Here's a (hopefully) simple tutorial on how to post using the HTML.

This is the LJ-cut. The "fake" LJ-cut is when you link to your other journal and trying to make it look like you've posted in the community. You can use either if you want more people to go to your journal/community.
