Summary: Kangin can't sleep due to the loud couples living in the dorm. Shindong finds a way to resolve this little situation. (yes this is a bad summary)
“What are you doing here hyung? Don’t you live in the other dorm?”
“Yeah, I just…”
“You just what?”
Kangin buried his face in his hands. “I just couldn’t sleep with all that noise.”
“Noise?”
Kangin looked up. “Yes, noise. Do you know how noisy some of those couples are?”
“Couples? I thought it was just Hanchul you have to worry about. Sibum shouldn’t be that loud.”
“Oh no, you’re wrong about that. They’re almost as loud as Hanchul sometimes. But occasionally I hear Eunhae as well.”
“Oh…”
“Yeah…”
“But aren’t you with Teukie? Don’t you two…?” I made a gesture. No way was I going to say it.
Kangin had the decency to blush. “Well…yeah but not all the time like Hanchul. I hear them every night. Actually they were quiet last week since Heechul was mad at Hankyung. But now that they’re back together…it’s getting on my nerves. They’re so loud and then down the hall are Sibum. Both couples together make so much noise I can’t sleep. I thought I’d have an easier time sleeping if I came down here since you guys are the quiet dorm.”
“Okay…then if you were going to sleep down here, why are you drinking a cup of coffee instead?”
“Well I was about to go to sleep when I heard noises coming down the hall as well. Your couples down here may be quiet compared to the ones upstairs but…” Kangin took a sip of his coffee. I just looked at him. His eyes were starting to get a little bloodshot.
“Hyung, you really should go to sleep. Why don’t you try sleeping upstairs again? What’s Leeteuk going to say when he wakes up and you’re not there?”
“Oh, you don’t have to worry about that.”
“Why?”
“Because he’s asleep on your couch right now.”
“What?” I went over to the living room to see Teukie sleeping peacefully on our couch. I went back into the kitchen.
“Yeah…he couldn’t sleep either due to the noise so I brought him down here. He fell asleep as soon as I laid him down on the couch.”
“Okay…then if he was able to knock out so quickly, why weren’t you?”
“I’m more sensitive to the noise I guess.”
“Strange…I thought ummas were more sensitive to noises than appas.” Kangin took a swing at me but I just moved out of the way. “Seriously though, you need to get some sleep. We have an early schedule tomorrow. What’s everybody going to think when you show up with bloodshot panda eyes?” I took the cup of coffee from him and placed it in the sink.
“I don’t know. I don’t care. I’ll just nap in the van tomorrow.”
I gently pulled Kangin up and started leading him towards my room. “That’s not good. Remember, that’s how you make us late for things. You fall asleep somewhere and it takes us a while to find you. Then we have to wake you up so you can get your make up done, making us even later.”
“Alright, alright, I’ll try and sleep. Gawd, I wish there was a way to get rid of all the noise. I hate having to listen to Hanchul or Sibum or on occasion Eunhae. You won’t believe the things I hear.” Kangin shuddered. I gently laid him on my bed and tucked him in. As soon as his head hit the pillow, he was knocked out. I grabbed a spare blanket and pillow and settled myself on the floor.
I was going to fix this problem. It was just going to take some time.

For the next couple weeks, Kangin and Leeteuk would end up sleeping in our dorm due to the loud couples in their dorm.
I felt so bad for them. Sleeping on the couch probably wasn’t good for Leeteuk. I let them sleep on my bed and I slept on the floor.
I couldn’t wait for my day off. Everyone was going to be so surprised and happy.

I looked around at the men working. Thankfully everyone was gone for the day either due to schedules or dates. I glanced at my watch. I didn’t expect them back until dinnertime which gave me plenty of time.
Three hours later…
I smiled. Finally it was done.
I made sure to test out the rooms to see if they did a good job. Thankfully they did. It was perfect. I gave him the check and watched them leave.
I can’t wait to see everyone’s reactions, most of all Kangin and Teukie’s. I mainly did it for them. They’ve been so good to us; this is a token of appreciation.

I watched as everyone came into the dorm, all loud and noisy. Everyone was in a great mood.
“Hey everyone. I have dinner ready if you’re hungry.”
“Dinner?” Eunhyuk looked around and started sniffing for the food.
“You cooked?” Sungmin looked surprised and skeptical
“What’s going on?”
“Shindong has dinner ready.” Everyone turned to look at me.
“What?”
“You usually don’t cook for us. What’s the news?”
“Is it good or bad?”
“It has to be bad if he’s cooking for us.”
“No it’s good news. He usually only cooks for special occasions or good news, remember?”
“Oh yeah…so what is it?” Everyone was looking at me.
“Uh…let’s go to the table before I tell you guys.”
“Alright. Everyone to the table now.” There was a rush as everyone ran to the table and quickly sat down. I slowly made my way in and stood at the head of the table. I cleared my throat.
“Alright, well you guys already figured out I had something to tell you. Well…a few weeks ago, Kangin came to me, complaining that some couples were so loud he had trouble sleeping.” I saw Siwon and Hankyung slightly blush. “He and Leeteuk were so bothered by the noise, they started sleeping down in our dorm, more specifically my room. Well today I fixed the problem.”
“How?”
“As a token of appreciation, I used part of my money and money donated from fellow members-“
“So that’s why you were asking all of us for some money.”
“You said it was for a good cause.”
“Yes, it was. And if you could all be quiet, I’d like to continue my little story.”
“Right.”
“Sorry Donghee.”
“As I was saying, I used part of my money and money donated from fellow members to pay people to soundproof our rooms.”
“WHAT?”
“Are you kidding me?”
“Is that for real?”
Everyone started talking all at once. I couldn’t understand what they were saying. Some had even gotten out of their chairs. I tried to get them to quiet down but falled. I caught Kangin’s eyes and silently pleaded to him. He seemed to understand what I wanted.
“QUIET EVERYONE!!!” Everyone shut up at the sound of Kangin’s voice. “Sit down.” Everyone immediately sat down. “Good, continue Shindong.”
“Thank you Kangin. So as I was saying I soundproof the rooms so from now on, no one will be bothered by loud noises during the night when most people should be sleeping.”
“Seriously?” I nodded. Leeteuk was so happy he started to cry. He came over and gave me a hug. Kangin came over and gave me a hug as well, same as Sungmin and Ryeowook. This then caused the other members to join our hug, turning it into one giant group hug.
“Thank you,” whispered Kangin. I smiled. That was all I needed. Just those two simple words to make it all worth it…
I looked at all the other members who were so happy about having soundproof rooms. I couldn’t wait until tonight. Finally I could have a peaceful sleep in my own bed for once.
“Alright, everyone I’m going to bed. Wake me in the morning.”
“Night Shindong.”
“Bye.”
“Sweet dreams.” I waved to the members enjoying dinner and went to my room. I closed the door and after changing into my pjs, I slipped under the covers. I made myself comfortable and instantly went to dreamland, enjoying the best night’s sleep I’d had in weeks.
