3- Yes, I like that Accio Cloak! won't work. Dumb Death Eaters. They should have tried "homenum revelio" instead.

9) I thought that was funny too. We already know that Ron gets crabby when he goes on an endless camping trip and gets hungry ... now he's blaming being stupid on being hungry too, LOL. Hope Hermione learns to cook ...

7) At this point, I think it's just an inside joke, and we're supposed to use our own imaginations. He probably made them grow extra legs or something, but knowing would sort of spoil the joke.

14) Apprently it is liquid Dementor juice, making people relive their worst memories. Ewww.... OK, I just made myself go to a scary mental place.

Aberforth and the Death Eaters: "If I want to put my cat out, I will and be damned to your curfew!" Aw, heck, everything he says to them (and Ron) FTW ( ... )

Aberforth and Albus: Aberforth sounds like he didn't care much for his brother, but what he does shows otherwise. He kept the two-way mirror, he kept Dobby around and he helped Harry - all of which kept Albus' big plans for "The Greater Good"(tm) alive.

I think Aberforth knew Albus was right in this case, but that didn't stop him being bitter and continuing to hold Albus responsible for their sister's death. He's a stunningly complex character and I hope some fanfic writers will realise that and take advantage of it.

But I'm glad we finally got an explanation beyond "She was ill"

I was so *sure* she was a werewolf, but what Jo implies is about ten times worse.

I love Aberforth Dumbledore. Anybody who can make Death Eaters look like idiots is okay in my book. :)

Ron = Dork. But that's okay, 'cause he was hungry.

I'm sure Albus Dumbledore was tortured every day by the death of Ariana.
Harry epitomized my icon in his speech to Aberforth. And, finally, NEVILLE!!!!

1) As they arrive in Hogsmeade, Harry remembers his arrival with a fatally weakened Dumbledore a year earlier. Is this a foreshadowing of doom? Harry better get his focus out of the past and into the present.

2) Their arrival is met with horrible screaming. Oh snap! They’ve walked into a trap! OK, if I understood what follows correctly, there is a curfew and anyone who apparates into the streets of Hogsmeade after this curfew is detected. If you apparate directly into a building - like the Hogs Head bar, then you are not detected. So the trio just got unlucky because they spent the entire day flying on a dragon and it was nightfall by the time they arrived in Hogsmeade? Well, we need a plot device so that they can be saved by Aberforth, so I guess this works.

3) Harry’s cloak cannot be summoned with Accio. I don’t think we knew this before. We haven’t heard about the trio casting any spells to cause this, so is this just a property of the Hallows? Xeno says that the cloak gives “constant and impenetrable ( ... )

9) Yes, I think it's a parallel of secrets revealed, but also reminding us that the truth is often dangerous.

10) Aberforth is skeptical and bitter about Albus’ plans. He’s given up hope that Voldemort can be defeated. Aberforth voices the doubts that Harry has been fighting this whole book. Dumbledore gave Harry a mission, but it does seem that he withheld key information that would have helped Harry along the way. Harry really has matured - he still has all of those doubts but has accepted them and decided that he just has to trust.

11) Aberforth’s eyes appear to be x-raying Harry. Is he an accomplished Legilimens like his brother?

12) Ariana’s story. Hermione is the insightful and curious one who guesses that Aberforth’s spiteful comments about Albus have to do with Ariana. Harry isn’t asking - he’s afraid to hear anything that might deter him from his purpose, from the decision he made to trust Dumbledore. What a sad story! First that Ariana was attacked so brutally at a young age, then that they had no other recourse but to hide her so that she wasn’t taken away and locked up. How awful to lose your father to Azkaban ( ... )

12) Aberforth says that any one of them could have been responsible for Ariana’s death - so they must all have been fighting to kill. I don't think I believe that. I think Ariana *was* frail, and that a strong hex, or a backfiring hex or even her own explosive power could have killed her.

13) Harry knows that he is the master of his own destiny and must make his own choices. Dumbledore didn't use him; he showed Harry what must be done and why, and left it to Harry to decide.

14) No, it did not. The RoR made it because it was needed.
