I'm so glad you liked this! I don't remember being as annoyed by the boys as you were - in fact if anything I found Blue's household a bit irritating sometimes - but I do agree it's a sort of slow-burn book (good description!) I didn't get the depth from Stiefvater that I do from Cooper and Garner, nowhere near, but I do agree that she's very readable!
