My tenth book for Bev's Vintage Mystery Cover Scavenger Hunt 2016 is The Labours of Hercules by Agatha Christie. It covers the category, 'Any other animal' (other than a cat or dog) as the cover shows a wild boar, deer, lion, horse etc.

It does sound good! I'm very old fashioned about mystery stories, I love the stylish quality of the Agatha Christie novels and others from that period. Modern mysteries seem more unpleasantly explicit about the realities of crimes like murder. Give me a case that's a bit more subtle.

I don't mind the odd modern mystery but I must admit I more and more enjoy vintage authors such as Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers and so on. Their stories rely more on good writing than sensationalism.
