Catching up on reviews

Time to catch up with several book reviews. Busy with the grandchildren over half-term and then a nasty cold most of this past week meant I was not really up to posting... or doing much at all to be honest. Apart from reading. Authors include Clifford D. Simak, Heather Young and Martin O'Brien.

It's been years since I read anything by Simak (City, maybe?) I do remember that a lot of his books dealt with the possibility, or even the inevitability of the end of our civilization or time on Earth. Often by war, though ecological degradation also came into play. It's interesting reading writers' of that time take on all of it.

I'm so glad you ended up reading The Lost Girls, and that you enjoyed it as much as I did. It's a really wonderful book. I'm looking forward to more from the author.

The only Simak book I've read that I remember because it was big favourite with me way back when was Cosmic Engineers. I must have read more, short stories perhaps, just can't remember them. That's probably why I wasn't aware that the end of our civilisation was a theme with him.

Thank you for reccing The Lost Girls. I absolutely loved it and gave it 5 stars on Goodreads. I really hope she writes more.
