So, Fandom March Madness had started, and normally I wouldn't have anything to say about it, even though I very much enjoyed watching Community's Troy Barnes win it last year, but, holy shit, Breaking Bad is one of the shows in the running this year!  Right now prelims are going on, so people are just voting for the character from each of the 32

Honestly, this was the firstt ime I ever voted on this thing, and it was rather amusing. I'm rather surpised so many female characters are kicking ass on the polls, which is awesome.

And you can gess to whom my vote went for BB. <3

Also, whew, I didn't check f-list for a day and it kind of...exploded with fandom-y stuff.

My first realization that it was going on was actually seeing someone complaining about how the female characters were dominating, as if that was the normal practice for fandom and it would be nice just this once if they weren't getting all the attention. Ugh.

Ugh, that figures. I love slash like any other fangirls, but this tendency to treat female characters like shit annoys the hell out of me. It doesn't help that I read and enjoy het pairings or gen fics as much as any slash pairing.

The worst thing is that the complaint centered on Britta from Community, who's legitimately my favorite character on the show/favorite female character on TV right now...and isn't in the way of any slash pairings (only a really annoying het ship).
