Oh my God. Your description is just beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I literally was given 1984 yesterday, and I have to finish reading some science book before I can read it, but I'm looking forward to it much more now!

The rule against fantasy and fandom made me giggle slightly, is that in the book? *feels a fool for not having read the book before now*

The end was too beautiful to even begin to compliment. How he dies smiling, happy... but I can't help but feel sorry for Matthew, watching him die, living with that for the rest of his life - he could have just turned him away.

I sense the book's going to be quite a sad read :/

*puts on Resistance in honour of this fic*

Well done, this is amazing :)

Aww, thank you! That's brightened up my night. :D

Definitely read 1984- its a brilliant, brilliant novel. Haha, noooo the fandom/fantasty rule isn't in the book, nor is the "Enforced Rule Thirty-Seven"- all just made up. Wish it was though, would be quite funny. But honestly, 1984- read it. Once you finish your science book.

I get song honours! *happy squee*

This was sad but really well-written.

Though I must suggest that you give a warning of death at the beginning. Some people (including me) are not so comfortable reading death.

Nonetheless this was quite amazing. Feelings from 1984 are reflected perfectly.

That was really beautiful. It helps that I'm listening to Crossfire right now. :)

I was all teary at the end of it. Now I must sob heartfeltly into my fat frog that I have named Dominic (seriously) and reread this because it was lovely. :D

Its a beautiful song, innit? Get goosebumps every time i listen to it.

Haha, a fat frog named Dominic! I name things after the boys too, the strangest of which is my iPod Wolstenholme. :D

Anyways, thanks!

I probably should take a picture of Dommie. He's gorgeous. :D His full name is Frogginic Hoppard, but I just call him Dom.

My friend has a dog called Matt (aka Mutt Pedigree), and I have his estranged son Dale-y-o. Don't ask why he's called that.

OH! And my friend has a Robosapien red skittle that he called Chris Conestenholme (LOLPUN), but that isn't the best bit. I made him two sets of eyes and his mam made him a cape and he can transform into CONEMAN who does epic speeches. His catchphrase is, "OH CRIMBO!" and he often descends from the skies and yells, "SIIIIIIILENCEEEEE!" He's a superhero. XD

...Yes. We are insane. :D

Oh my god I think I just fell out of my chair with laughter! That is the best name for a dog, and a Robosapien superhero whose catchphrase is "OH CRIMBO!"? Takes the cake!

Bwahaha, my friends and I are pretty nuts too. None of them are crazy about Muse like I am, so its not the same... but oh well. I'm just loco on my own... like the time I ran past the principal's office and onto the younger kid's oval singing United States of Eurasia (when the treasure hunt had just finished.) They all thought I was loony. :D

Wonderful! You've managed to capture that tone of 1984 that I love so much, the reason I keep reading it over and over again (long before Matt got his hands on it)

Thanks! Like you, I read 1984 a long time before the Resistance came out. I think my tally for re-reads is about seven? Its one of my favourites. :)
