Yeah I agree that there are some problems with the pregnancy thing, but I didn't really think too much about it. I mean I have written stuff in my stories that didn't make perfect sense, but in order for the story to go the way I wanted it had to happen. I will give Meyer some leeway on that one.

I was glad that she finally put in the tampons, because damn that is the elephant in the room that everybody is curious about. And I understand Rosalie now, but I still wish that Bella hadn't run to her. I just wish it could have been Alice that was all protective of her and shit. Oh well.

Since I've started re-reading BD I noticed that this is the chapter in which she started to lose me. I think it's because I read on the Lexicon in one of the correspondence pages why Stephenie has said in the past that vampires can't have children.

"And since we’re talking physiology…I’ve had tons of people ask if vampires can have babies. The answer is no. When someone becomes a vampire, it’s as if they are frozen exactly as they are in that moment. His or her (and we’ll go with her because it’s more central to this discussion) body no longer experiences change. Hair does not grow, nor do fingernails (if you cut your hair, you’re stuck. That’s why Alice’s hair is so short-it was growing back from being shaved in the asylum). This applies to all changes-so a woman would no longer have any kind of ovulation cycle. If she were already pregnant when she was bitten, both she and the fetus would be frozen in that state. Which would really suck-pregnant for eternity? I’m shuddering at the thought." I think that's why the ( ... )

I felt like Bella and Edwards relationship was...different in this chapter. Normally Edward avoids the sticky awkward stuff (He uses words like "virtue" to get around these topics). Anywho, the fact that Bella was a bit nonreactive and Edward said "PMS" weirded me out a bit. They just don't seem like the characters I know and love from the previous books. But I guess characters change.

And the pregnancy. I wouldn't have such an issue with it if SMeyer had avoided the topic completely and never commented on the fact that VAMPIRES can't have babies. I mean, I felt as if SMeyer was trying to create a situation where everyone would be surprised because the fact is that no one analyzed her statements about pregnancy, they just took them for face value. Perhaps people would have liked BD more if SMeyer had been less direct is all I'm saying.

Anywho, this chapter is where Bella became unlike herself, whether it was SMeyer's intention or not. I'm not sure if I was ready to let normal human Bella go...
