I have often reflected on the topic you presented. While being gay has, of course, had its many challenges, it has almost been topped by having to struggle being a "closet nerd" as you put, or close to one. In other words, I followed a double double life (or would it be a triple life? bah). When I was younger, I was basically the only kid in school who got straight A's and actually enjoyed learning (I did have a class of only about 25 though). As time progressed, I learned to appreciate other qualities of life, but never could quite let go of my desire to KNOW everything
