2)In the paragraph discussing babies, where the term stillborn is used: Stillborn implies a permanence through which no miracle of modern science may change. Death, in medical terms, cannot be altered. Once declared a stillborn, or without life, there is no way to alter this state; it is permanent. However, a child born not breathing may be brought back to consciousness just like a drowned person may be, but once declared dead (correctly) there is no chance for bringing said human back to life/consciousness. 3)“…and at least potential life in inorganic matter.” Granted you used the word “potential” which implies the capability of being but not yet in existence, but this statement has the parallel potential for existence as that of immortality (which is exactly what is being discussed). Neither has been proved and, therefore, in such an attempt to write a factual essay probably shouldn’t be included. Ethereal, transcendental, faith vs. that of fact and non-fiction ( ... )

Opinion or Fact...same??? writersfuel86 June 3 2005, 21:54:09 UTC
"in fact, it has only been in recent years that WE have had any knowledge or vision of the immensity of space and the IMPOSSIBILITY of any such place as is imagined by the credulous and trusting." The FACT of the matter is that none of us know what will happen. To say impossibility concerning a matter of which no one knows the true extent isn't very wise. It's fine to have such opinions, but shouldn't one recognize the limits of such things? Opinions are opinions. They are not fact, and as such, don't have an absolute rule over everyone's fate. The collective WE excludes the majority of humans on this planet who do in fact believe in an afterlife.

"Please excuse my geekness for a moment, but we know now that the earth revolves upon its axis at a terrific speed..." THE REST OF THIS PARAGRAPH IS BRILLIANT. BWAHAHAHH! Such a valid point! Wonderful! The best part is imagining the souls. hahaha. This is genious.

I can see things from your point of view. Much of this makes sense, but you may want to check your facts. This is well written. It's hardly pedantic and the writing doesn't beg me to fall asleep. Keep it up!

It's a tad late as I read all this and I am a tired puppy. I will dig into it soon, but for now, let me just say thank you for taking the time to read my bantering and make such thought provoking comments. I appreciate all the effort. I can see you will be one to keep me on my toes as time goes on.
