I think the casting is a masterstroke, actually. It's the *only* thing that could've made series 3 OK with me. I am so pleased! But it would be a boring world if everyone else was too.

I'm not at all upset about it--it IS book canon, after all. But it isn't going to end anyone's OTP unless they want it to, and OMG the whinging on Tumblr today....

They cast John's canon girlfriend, and the fandom exploded? Good gravy--or lumpy, as the case may be. Fandom is insane and a ravenous beast that will eat it's own young.

Of course I know who you are. And I suck at closets, seriously. And then I can't remember where I drew the lines, and all hell breaks loose. Y'know. Typical day.

It's the Johnlockers who can't handle that their ship isn't canon that's the problem.
